In the meantime, the Retro-Arcade-Games project has gained a solid foundation (framework) and the roadmap – on which the project is based – has been finalized to a large extent. The first prototypes, HTML5 banner games and flashgames have been integrated, database tables have been created and some other time-consuming obstacles – such as the reform of data protection legislation – have been overcome.
Reform of data protection law
Although the EU-wide reform of data protection law will not come into force until May 26,2018, but in order to achieve relative legal certainty, corresponding areas of the project have already been set up or rebuilt in advance and new – reform compliant – page contents have been created. That way, at least I can put the reform on the record in advance and work on other really important things, such as databases or game productions.
There are also news to report from Google’s „PageSpeed Insights“ due to the redesign of the website. At the beginning Retro-Arcade-Games.de achieved a meager 64 points for the mobile version and 71 points for the desktop version, meanwhile there are 81 points for the mobile version and 88 points for the desktop version. It could be even better, but at the moment it seems to be sufficient to allow enough time for game development.
